"Aww, Scorpi, you're just the cutest little Mixel!"
Ohhhh man, where do I start with him. This absolute goober. This adorable little buge.
I think Scorpi is the greatest fictional character ever concieved by human minds. He is quite literally flawless (ok, it's disputable due to lack of screen time not letting his personality get fleshed out, but more on that later). The idea of a scorpion, an arachnid that is usually seen as "creepy" or "evil", and has even less good representation than spiders do, and then making him extremely adorable is genius. I don't know the exact person who designed, or hell even conceptualized Scorpi, but whoever they are, they deserve a raise of 895456748578468468754694775675497859e86754654795479657984 Scorpillion dollars. Times 10. Times 100. Times 100000000000000.
But you know what grinds my gears? You know what's BULLLLLSHIT? The fact that they only gave Scorpi (and the rest of Series 3) only a 5-minute episode, plus a few other cameos and that's it. That's it. Scorpi had so so SOOOOO much potential, but they wasted it. So Scorpi doesn't get any lines other than adorable squeaking (even though his bio states that he's talkative) and he only has less than a minute and a half of screentime, with one of his cameos being him getting socked in the face. Let that sink in. ⛲
And then after that, he was never mentioned by Lego or Cartoon Network again. A very tragic tale of an adorable scorpion not getting what he truly deserves: a 10 season sitcom centered around him where Glurt is the funny sidekick friend, Hoogi and Footi are the controlling yet well meaning parents, and Snoof is the over-the-top cartoonishly exaggerated school bully. (Naw just kidding he and the other Series 3 Mixels just needed more shorts like Series 1 and 2).
But whatever. I'm still happy with the episode they gave us of him. Murp Romp is absolute peak cinema and you can't convince me otherwise.
